Winner's Circle |
Starting with the first game, Scott wanted to make sure the game was bigger than it really was. Thus he designated a player every year to be MVP, Most Valuable Player. Valuable to whom or what has fluctuated depending on who is picking the awards, but for the most part the spirit remains the same. Jeff Cogliandro was an essential element of the early games, in that he was huge, and was about the only one that could block Psycho most of the time but also since he was a consumate team player and good sportsman. Jeff went onto the field to play, play hard and win, but he did it as a warrior, with honor. Not like some punk to try and hurt someone or to showboat their athletic abilities and forget about the game. Thus Scott named the award after Jeff and the effect he left on the game.
